What is Sports Chiropractic Care?
Sports chiropractic is noninvasive and involves making safe adjustments and manipulations to the spine and joints. It is widely used to treat and prevent a wide array of injuries.
Sports chiropractic is a multidisciplinary approach and requires extensive training to determine when and where to apply an adjustment and ensure services are performed safely and effectively. It also involves recommendations for exercises designed to improve strength, flexibility, and range of motion in your spine and entire body.
Sports chiropractic is one of the most effective specialties within the broader field of chiropractic care. The technique addresses the musculoskeletal system, using safe chiropractic adjustments to restore proper motion to restricted joints.
Sports Therapy
Sports therapy is a combination of disciplines including chiropractic care, physical therapy, massage therapy, pilates and strength training. Electric stimulation, mechanical traction and ultrasound are frequently used as well. If you have sports related injuries, a combination of these disciplines will be used to develop a custom rehabilitation program to alleviate pain and improve performance.
What is A.R.T, Graston, and Dryneedling?
Active Release Technique (ART) is a patented, state of the art soft tissue movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves.
The Graston Technique® is an instrument-assisted, soft tissue mobilization therapy. It is beneficial in breaking up fascial restrictions, scar tissue adhesions, and detecting areas of chronic inflammation and/or fibrosis.
Dry needling involves placing a small needle into the muscle at the trigger point which is typically in an area which the muscle is tight and may be tender with the intent of causing the muscle to contract and then release, improving the flexibility of the muscle and therefor decreasing symptoms.
FREQUENT INQUIRIES
What is included in the first visit and how long will it last?
The first visit includes an examination (x-rays may be taken if your doctor needs such imaging for diagnostic purposes) including a full explanation and report of your condition and treatment plan. Treatment often begins on your first day. Your initial appointment will take 30-45 minutes and follow up appointments are typically 15-30 minutes.
What Clothing should i wear/Bring to my appointments
You should wear or bring comfortable clothing to all appointments. You may be moving quite a bit or the Doctor may need to gain access to certain areas. Athletic clothing is often your best bet.

We accept most major insurances. We are not in-network with Anthem Healthkeepers, Medicaid, or Tricare. However, we do offer affordable alternatives. Give us a call for more information.
We complete an insurance verification to check your benefits which will tell us your copay, your deductible and how many visits you have per year. These benefits are never guaranteed and are based on your insurance companies allowable charges based on the doctors diagnosis and treatment plan.
If my insurance does not cover services, can I pay for my visits?
Yes, Recharge offers very affordable payment plans and cash fee for services. Please call us for more information.
I have shoulder and/or leg pain. Why should I go to a chiropractor?
With 20+ years experience of sports rehabilitation training at the professional athletics level, Dr. Bruce has developed a unique rehabilitation treatment protocol for most injuries.
What ages do you treat?
We treat patients from newborns to senior citizens. We have a variety of treatment techniques for our youngest and oldest patients such as the use of the Activator Method which enables the doctor to finely tune the force of the musculoskeletal adjustment.
Are all patients adjusted the same way?
No. The doctor evaluates each patient's unique problem and develops an individual course of care. Each chiropractic adjustment builds on the one before. The resulting recommendations are based on years of training and experience. Each patient's care is uniquely different from every other patient.
